Sports Massage
Sports massage is a form of deep tissue massage involving the manipulation of various layers of soft tissue and lengthening of the muscles.
Sports massage will benefit any person engaged in regular physical activity. Various techniques are used to assist in correcting problems and imbalances in soft tissue that are caused from repetitive and strenuous physical activity and trauma. The application of sports massage, prior to and after exercise, can be used to enhance performance, aid recovery and prevent injury.
In addition to Sports Massage techniques your Sports Therapist may offer any one or combination of additional treatments if he thinks they will be beneficial to you.
Sports Taping
Sports taping with Kinesiology tape is a technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion.
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation
This technique is very popular in the USA where it is known as the Graston technique. In the UK it is commonly referred to as IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation). Sports Therapists, Osteopaths, Chiropractors and Physiotherapists use this technique in addition to other types of manual therapy. Specially designed hand-held massage tools (usually made from smooth stainless steel) are used to apply pressure in small, careful motions. Typically this technique is used for myofascial release where these instruments can effectively work to break up areas of tension including scar tissue.
Therapeutic Ultrasound
Ultrasound therapy uses specialised equipment to warm up specifically targeted areas of tissue giving a deeply warming effect to aid recovery. Gel is used on the skin to reduce friction and aid transmission of ultrasonic waves which can help muscles, tendons and ligaments.
Myofascial Cupping
This technique uses a range of different sized plastic cups that are applied to the skin and then a vacuum is created using a small hand held device that can be attached to each cup briefly. The amount of vacuum applied is carefully tailored so that the cups can be moved around the area. This has the effect of working on the connective tissues to dissipate any areas of tension and bringing blood flow to the area.

Testimonials
Excellent practice with friendly, helpful team. The chiropractors and massage therapists provide thorough, effective treatments as well as advice on stretches and exercises to help you continue your recovery. Can't recommend them highly enough.Sarah
Alex, Suresh and the team here are fantastic, warm and welcoming. Having had back troubles for the best part of a decade I've gone from dreading work and car journeys to finding a spring back in my step in a matter of months! Can't recommend enough!James
As a full time nurse and mother, I spend a lot of time fulfilling the needs of others and subsequently my own needs end up at the bottom of the pile. I had a massage from Suresh a couple of days ago and I now feel like a different person! I feel taller, more energised and lighter in my step. Suresh seemed to know exactly which areas to focus on. The niggly pains I had been feeling for months in my lower back and shoulders seem to have melted away and I feel calmer and more patient with my family. I did not realise how much I needed this. Thank you Suresh.Anna
From the very beginning of my treatment I was listened to and the information I received about my condition was accurate as later confirmed by an X ray and my doctor. I then went to the masseur, Suresh Ebert, who again listened to me and checked with the chiropractor before treating me. The treatments have proven beneficial and as the condition is degenerative I cannot ask for more. The premises are clean and comfortable and appointments are on time. I would unequivocally recommend this practice.Patricia
This is a very professional business which I fully recommend. The chiropractor and sport therapy treatments are fantastic. Thank you!Lindsey & Damien
I was in so much pain and Suresh eased it very quickly. He came highly recommended to me, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to others too. He has a skill in finding the painful areas without me saying anything. Best deep tissue massage I’ve ever had. Perfect to help with my boxing, Muay Thai and MMA training. He also didn’t try to push me into further appointments like a lot of therapists do.Pierre
